The Gym Group; Checkout flow
Brief
TGG are looking to integrate Stripe into our payment and checkout processes across the web and app. It’s been raised that we need to plot out how that fits into our customer journey without causing unnecessary friction.
Role
User flow mapping, wireframing
Stakeholders
Members (new and current), Senior Product Manager, external partners companies

External partner understanding
We are integrating with two new partners; one to control our member management system, the other to control our payment methods. It was key to this project to gain an understanding as to how these two areas interact and how they’ll work together.
User flow creation
After gaining an understanding of the behaviours and capabilities of our new partners, I was able to create the complex user flow which accommodated all the different options and use cases for our member checkout flow.
Wireframing
In order to aid conversations when presenting this user flow back, it was necessary to create a number of low fidelity wireframes alongside the key points in the journey. This allowed me to describe the concepts more easily and simplify a complex user flow.
Next steps
Currently, we’re waiting on confirmation that this suggested design and flow will be viable with the backend solution design that’s being built. Post this next step, I’ll be creating more high fidelity designs and I plan on carrying out usability testing using a prototype to validate our assumptions on the user flow.
