XpertHR; Site Refresh
Stakeholder research
Undoubtedly the most important people to speak to are users. However, it's important to have an awareness and understanding of stakeholder/business requirements. In an ideal world, customer and stakeholder viewpoints will align; however learning how to manage both and bring customers needs to the forefront of conversations is a vital skill I have developed.
Using customer/user feedback is the best way to reduce the occurrence of stakeholders’ opinions holding undue sway over decisions and keeping the focus on solving the customers' problems.
These pictures showcase the detailed interviews we have conducted with stakeholders, followed by a full-day workshop to create actionable insights from the vast data we collected.
Data analysis
Within this project, I used data and analytics to identify the key user journeys by starting with users most common entry page and following through the next few destination pages. I also identified the most visited pages across the site, as this allowed for me to prioritise which areas of the site needed to be focused on first.
I looked into bounce rates and how long a user spends on the site on top of this. It will give me the ability to put a quantifiable metric to the improved user experience I have designed; and turn the metrics I have focused on into actionable insights. Adobe Analytics allows me to make data-driven decisions and bring evidence to a discussion about how to move forward with designs.
High fidelity designs
During my last 6 months at XpertHR, I worked with the Head of Design to rebrand and redesign the entirety of our core site. This was a massive task as XpertHR is an incredibly text-heavy site with a lot of value coming from the rich content it gives to its subscribers.
As a team we created 3 different styles of the rebrand to present back to the SLT, all ranging in severity in change from the original site.
The designs were based on a more dashboard style approach in order to highlight what a user had access to, whilst not removing the level of superior content the site had to offer. I wanted to keep within the brand guidelines that were already set, but simplify and clean up the UI so that it wasn't seen as 'boring' and 'overwhelming' to customers. This was the design the agreed to move forward with.
